Councillor Pratt was born and raised in Camrose and graduated from the Camrose Composite High School in 1967. Upon graduation he attended NAIT graduating in Business Administration. After working in Edmonton and Calgary from 1969-1970 he returned to Camrose and has been self-employed for 35 years. He is married to Jacquie Schafter and has two children.

As a community volunteer, Councillor Pratt has been involved in:

• Camrose Sport Development Society (operates the Camrose Kodiaks
• Chamber of Commerce
• Camrose United Church Board
