Nomination Day

Monday, September 20, 2010 between 10 am and 12 noon at City Hall (5204 – 50 Avenue)

Candidates, or a representative on behalf of a candidate, must file completed nomination papers with the Returning Officer at City Hall between 10 am and noon on Monday, September 20, 2010.

Nomination papers CANNOT be accepted by mail, fax or e-mail.  Candidates are required to have their papers signed by at least 5 electors.  The City of Camrose does not require a deposit.

Information has been added for candidates regarding Campaign Contributions.  It is strongly recommended that candidates review the Guidelines and consult the Local Authorities Election Act available from the Alberta Queen's Printer.

Election Day    -     Monday, October 18, 2010 between 10 am to 8 pm

You may vote for the following positions for the 2010 – 2013 terms of office:

• Mayor      (1 position)
• Councillor (8 positions)

• Battle River School Board Trustees  (2 positions)   OR
• Elk Island School Board Trustee      (1 position)  

In order to vote, you must be:
• at least 18 years of age on or before October 18, 2010
• a Canadian Citizen
• an Alberta resident for the 6 consecutive months preceding Election Day
• a resident of Camrose on Election Day

Polling Stations

On October 18th, 2010 eligible voters may cast their ballots at any of the following locations:

• Community Centre    4516 - 54 Street    (Rudy Swanson Park)
• Mirror Lake Centre    5415 - 49 Avenue   (gymnasium) (formerly known as the Seniors Centre)
• Sparling School        5216 - 52 Avenue   (gymnasium)
